Comments:

Kevin asked to run with me today. We arranged to meet at 7am. He has a 6 miles loop around Folkestone so that took care of the route. There was a beautiful sunrise at 6am but sadly this had faded away by the time we were out. However, it was still a clear, bright day and not to hot or cold.

As we ran, we chatted about several topics and the miles flew by. Along Cheriton high street towards the M20 we ran before turning left to descend Horn Street, a long, steep downhill leading to Seabrook and the seaside.

We crossed the road onto the esplanade and gazed wistfully across the gently ebbing sea towards the French coast which was just visible on the horizon. Once in Sandgate we approached Orchard Lane Coffee House. They serve wonderful coffee and tasty cakes, so we popped in briefly.

It was only a short distance up Sandgate Hill before my watch beeped at 6 miles. I had been so busy chatting and listening to Kevin that I’d not really noticed how my body felt which I took as a good sign.

A bonus today was an article in the Folkestone Herald all about Run The Date...
